Russia’s key rate cut to 17 percent

The Bank of Russia has decided to reduce its key interest rate to 17% per annum, from the previous 20%, the press service of the regulator reported. Today’s decision reflects a shift in the balance of risks of accelerating consumer price growth, slowdown in economic activity and risks to financial stability. The next meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia to consider the issue of the key rate level, is scheduled for April 29.
