MAX Group to acquire OBI hypermarkets in Russia

The Federal Antimonopoly Service announced that the group of investment and construction companies MAX plans to acquire the OBI chain of stores in Russia. A relevant petitions were received recently. The service will assess the impact of the transactions on the Russian consumer goods market in the prescribed manner.

A few days earlier it was reported that all 27 OBI hypermarkets in Russia will resume work until May 11. The first one, on Khodynskoye Pole in Moscow, was reopened on April 27. Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov called the opening a positive signal.
