Mandatory sale requirement for half of export earnings now abolished

A decree lifting the requirement for exporters to sell 50% of foreign exchange earnings was signed today. The document says that from now on, the government commission will determine the conditions and share of the proceeds required for sale.

Easing the requirements for exporters to sell foreign exchange earnings is one of the measures aimed at correcting the exchange rate of the Russian currency, which has strengthened excessively in recent months.
