To successfully turn foreign trade towards Asia, Russia needs to solve logistical issues in a new way when developing trade processes, said the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov. Currently, the possibilities of increasing the capacity of the Far Eastern ports are being considered. There is also an option to use the Eurasian infrastructure, i.e. potential of neighboring states as transit countries, he said.
The minister is taking part in a meeting of trade ministers of the countries participating in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, which is taking place these days in Thailand’s capital.
